BB
I am knee deep into my busy season (as if there is a slow one) at work and sitting at my computer when I get home is just torturous.
I really wanted to have my list of New Year's Resolutions done, but instead, I have decided to see what I accomplish by December and that will be my list of resolutions. That way I will have a whole list of accomplishments checked off.
I really wanted to have pictures of Macie's 3 month old birthday party posted by now. I promise those will be posted before December. (There is a resolution)
We are all doing great (busy but great). Everyone is relatively healthy right now (and yes... I am knocking on wood right now). We all have had some sinus issues, but who doesn't with this roller coaster weather we have been having.
We have signed Kaelin up for Spring tee-ball, so busy is about to get busier.
Todd and I are knee deep into our running season (if there is such a thing). This is just the time of year that races are bearable (weather wise). We have some 1/2 marathons coming up and our super fun relay. I am not back to my PM days (Pre-Macie) in regards to running, but it is getting better.
So... no cute pictures (but promises to get some posted)

Life in a song
So everyone knows what "Taylor Swift freaks" we are (or at least Kaelin is). Taylor Swift has a song out that is just so appropriate for where we are right now in our life. My sweet sister asked me if I had heard that song and even though we have the CD, I just had not listened to it yet. Once I did, I just wanted to start bawling like a big baby.
The song is "Never Grow Up" and it is just so sweet.
Oh darling don't you ever grow up
don't you ever grow up
just stay this little
Oh darling don't you ever grow up
don't you ever grow up
it could stay this simple
no one's ever burned you

What a site
Isn't this just the cutest site ever... I got out of the shower and found Kaelin all snuggled up next to Macie. She is still so in love with her sister.

Santa Strikes Again
As if Santa didn't bring enough goodies to our house, he stopped by Aunt Debbie and Uncle Truman's and brought a new bike for their house. Kaelin was so excited. She really wants to be able to ride her bike with no training wheels, so that will have to be a goal of ours this year.

New Year's Eve
We had the best New Year's Eve EVER. It did not involve dressing up, going to a super fancy party or blowing noise makers (although that would have been lots of fun). We were invited, but declined the invitation, to a New Year's Eve party with some of our great friends. We opted to stay home and spend time with our babies. I would not have had it any other way. We went to the Monument Inn for dinner with Aunt Debbie and Uncle Truman. Then came home and popped a few fireworks.
Kaelin was just loving waving her sparkler around. She is already looking forward to the 4th of July just so we can do more fireworks.
First picture of my two favorite girls in the year 2011
Honestly... can you think of a better way to spend New Year's Eve?

Ever had RD?
My nephew Trip (a 2nd grader), told his teacher he was not feeling good last week, so he was sent to the nurse.
The nurse asked what was bothering him and he told her he thought he had "a reptile disfunction". Now, if I was the nurse I would have been sent home for wetting my pants from laughing so hard.
Trip's mom came to pick him up and she asked him what was wrong. He pointed to a spot on his arm and said he thought he probably had a reptile disfunction because a spider bit him.
I was rolling when I heard the story. I guess that is what we get for having all of those ED commercials on TV.

Poor Baby
The Christmas holidays also brought an unexpected and unwanted present. Kaelin got a cold and because she just can't seem to stay out of Macie's face, Macie picked up the cold. On our way home from Corsicana, we had to go to the doctor and they diagnosed Macie with RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). RSV is a nasty nasty virus. It causes difficulty in breathing, bronchitis, fever, and almost any other symptom you can think of. There is really no medicine that can be given to cure it. The doctors really just try to treat the airway in order to make it less difficult to breathe. So, Macie had to get a nebulizer and we have to do breathing treatments with her 2 times a day. She fights me when I come at her with the breathing mask, so I have to catch her when she is asleep. The breathing treatments have helped so much. Her junky cough has gotten a lot better, no fever, breathing is not labored, and sleep is back to normal.
Poor Macie... it has been a rough couple of months.

Going to Grandma's House
To round out our Christmas travels, we went to Corsicana for a few days. Todd wanted to go spend a little while working on his deer lease and of course his side kick, Kaelin went to help him out. Macie and I stayed around the house, which was really nice and relaxing.
Kaelin ripping through more presents. She opened up a tea set from Uncle Bob and Aunt Janice.

Christmas Day
Once again... a little late on posting. But better late then never. On Christmas Day, we went to my dad's house. I was not very diligent with my picture taking. I think it was because my pants were just too tight, which was making me uncomfortable. (Thanks Christmas desserts for making my already tight pants even tighter).
This is one of the few pictures of My dad, brother, me, Kaelin, and Macie. I am not sure why my brother's face has a dark spot over it. I think something must have been on the flash (like a finger). We are also missing Trip in this picture.
This is the other side of my family. My dad's brother, Uncle Fred, Kayde and Justin, Aiden and Gavin, and then Callie and Fallon. Great picture, but everyone is looking at different cameras.

Christmas Eve
Yes... you are reading that title correctly. I am just getting around to posting pictures of Christmas Eve. I really needed to add "being a more prompt blogger" to my New Year's Resolution list (but being the procrastinator that I have become... that list does not even exist YET)
My two beautiful girls (and Happy 9 weeks old Macie)
Christmas Eve was spent at Mamaw's house. Aunt Debbie was reading a Christmas story. Kaelin was the angel, Trip was Joseph, and Macie got to be baby Jesus. It was so cute. Kaelin stopped in the middle of the story and said "Wait... Wait... if I am the angel I need to have my wings down (and she did a demonstration) because I am not flying". That is my deep thinker. She had probably been thinking about that for quite a while.
Kaelin just loves her cousin, Trip
This is how we found Mamaw and Macie most of the night.

He Came...
Santa definitely hit our house. It actually looked like he took Toys R' Us and just dumped the whole darn store into my living room.
(Dear Santa... if you are going to be so gracious with my girls, could you please provide me with a larger house so I will have a place to store all of these goodies?)
Macie got a baby Jeep walker. She is still a little too young for it, but it won't be long before she is running over everything in site (watch out dogs). She also got some leapfrog toys.
Kaelin's load
Kaelin got the most adorable horse stable. It is made of wood, had wooden horses with soft hair, wooden people, real hay, little brooms and scoopers to clean out the barn when those horses make a mess, and horse jumps. It is probably my favorite gift. It is just too cute.
Kaelin came down stairs and was just big eyed. Santa had delivered her red balloon. (Story of the red balloon: Kaelin got a red heart balloon at her school Christmas party. She was so excited about her balloon. It was tied to a little box and she asked me to untie it for her so she could carry it... this is where things go South. So, we were outside and I began to untie the balloon. Then it got away from me. I tried to jump up and get it but it just kept going. Kaelin was just devastated. She began just bawling. So, after some quick thinking, Aunt Debbie says the balloon is going up to Santa Clause. This settles Kaelin down a little. Then she says "Mom, did you see that, I just saw a bright red shiney nose. I bet it was Rudolph. I think Rudolph got my balloon".
Todd read Santa's note to Kaelin, which included finding her red balloon. Santa returned the balloon, but this balloon had writing on it and the other one was solid red. Santa wrote in his note that he found the balloon and he and Rudolph decorated it for her. She was so excited.
Oh... a video game. Just what I have always wanted. She got the Leapster Explorer.
"Look Dad. Santa brought me a bow and ear"

Aunt Debbie had the most adorable coat made for Diva Kaelin
with a matching hat
As you can see, Christmas was good to us. Todd and I made out pretty well ourselves. I got a Kindle, of which I am in love with. I have already downloaded and read several books. This is definitely my favorite gift. I got a BOB jogging stroller from PawPaw (or really Macie did but I am the one doing all of the work). I am loving my BOB. I got a new Chi iron for my hair fro Aunt Debbie, so now no more excuses for the frizzies.
Todd got a Garmin running watch (so he would quit taking mine), a new windshield for his truck (kind of boring but much needed), a new 1TB portable hard drive for his computer (again boring but needed), and many other wonderful gifts.
There is nothing left on the wish lists, we were all tremendously blessed with more than we could ever ask for.
