BB
I am knee deep into my busy season (as if there is a slow one) at work and sitting at my computer when I get home is just torturous.
I really wanted to have my list of New Year's Resolutions done, but instead, I have decided to see what I accomplish by December and that will be my list of resolutions. That way I will have a whole list of accomplishments checked off.
I really wanted to have pictures of Macie's 3 month old birthday party posted by now. I promise those will be posted before December. (There is a resolution)
We are all doing great (busy but great). Everyone is relatively healthy right now (and yes... I am knocking on wood right now). We all have had some sinus issues, but who doesn't with this roller coaster weather we have been having.
We have signed Kaelin up for Spring tee-ball, so busy is about to get busier.
Todd and I are knee deep into our running season (if there is such a thing). This is just the time of year that races are bearable (weather wise). We have some 1/2 marathons coming up and our super fun relay. I am not back to my PM days (Pre-Macie) in regards to running, but it is getting better.
So... no cute pictures (but promises to get some posted)

Life in a song
So everyone knows what "Taylor Swift freaks" we are (or at least Kaelin is). Taylor Swift has a song out that is just so appropriate for where we are right now in our life. My sweet sister asked me if I had heard that song and even though we have the CD, I just had not listened to it yet. Once I did, I just wanted to start bawling like a big baby.
The song is "Never Grow Up" and it is just so sweet.
Oh darling don't you ever grow up
don't you ever grow up
just stay this little
Oh darling don't you ever grow up
don't you ever grow up
it could stay this simple
no one's ever burned you

What a site
Isn't this just the cutest site ever... I got out of the shower and found Kaelin all snuggled up next to Macie. She is still so in love with her sister.

Santa Strikes Again
As if Santa didn't bring enough goodies to our house, he stopped by Aunt Debbie and Uncle Truman's and brought a new bike for their house. Kaelin was so excited. She really wants to be able to ride her bike with no training wheels, so that will have to be a goal of ours this year.

New Year's Eve
We had the best New Year's Eve EVER. It did not involve dressing up, going to a super fancy party or blowing noise makers (although that would have been lots of fun). We were invited, but declined the invitation, to a New Year's Eve party with some of our great friends. We opted to stay home and spend time with our babies. I would not have had it any other way. We went to the Monument Inn for dinner with Aunt Debbie and Uncle Truman. Then came home and popped a few fireworks.
Kaelin was just loving waving her sparkler around. She is already looking forward to the 4th of July just so we can do more fireworks.
First picture of my two favorite girls in the year 2011
Honestly... can you think of a better way to spend New Year's Eve?

Ever had RD?
My nephew Trip (a 2nd grader), told his teacher he was not feeling good last week, so he was sent to the nurse.
The nurse asked what was bothering him and he told her he thought he had "a reptile disfunction". Now, if I was the nurse I would have been sent home for wetting my pants from laughing so hard.
Trip's mom came to pick him up and she asked him what was wrong. He pointed to a spot on his arm and said he thought he probably had a reptile disfunction because a spider bit him.
I was rolling when I heard the story. I guess that is what we get for having all of those ED commercials on TV.

Poor Baby
The Christmas holidays also brought an unexpected and unwanted present. Kaelin got a cold and because she just can't seem to stay out of Macie's face, Macie picked up the cold. On our way home from Corsicana, we had to go to the doctor and they diagnosed Macie with RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). RSV is a nasty nasty virus. It causes difficulty in breathing, bronchitis, fever, and almost any other symptom you can think of. There is really no medicine that can be given to cure it. The doctors really just try to treat the airway in order to make it less difficult to breathe. So, Macie had to get a nebulizer and we have to do breathing treatments with her 2 times a day. She fights me when I come at her with the breathing mask, so I have to catch her when she is asleep. The breathing treatments have helped so much. Her junky cough has gotten a lot better, no fever, breathing is not labored, and sleep is back to normal.
Poor Macie... it has been a rough couple of months.
