Carnival Part 3

This might be my last post about our day at the carnival. I have just about beaten this horse to death.

In an effort to continue being a "dare devil", Kaelin went up the big slide.

Now... last year, Kaelin climbed the slide all by herself and went down it all by herself (using up all of our tickets on this one ride).

This year, the story was a little different. She said she would go on the slide as long as Aunt Kristen rode with her.

So, she did. (Kaelin is hanging onto Kristen's legs, while Pace is waving his hands in the air and truly enjoying the ride)

Then we ventured off into AgVenture to see all of the animals. We stood in a ridiculous line to ride some ponies.

Pace was enjoying his ride on Cagney

Kaelin was taking a ride on Cowboy. (And in case you were wondering... this was considered a scary ride. She almost cried when Cowboy started barely walking. She said she was scared. Then she calmed down and was fine)

Carnival Part 2

Here is my effort to continue our adventure at the carnival...

Kaelin is a super funny kid. She is very compassionate, caring, and scared of MANY things. For example, Kaelin loves Scooby Doo, but refuses to watch it without her Daddy because, as she puts it "it is way too scary".

So, the carnival was no different.

Kaelin was finally tall enough to ride some fun rides...

But...

Look at what we ended up on...

The super dooper scary little train...

The ultra scary Dragon Wagon (that consisted of two little turns, with the highest one being about 3 feet off of the ground)

Then we finished ended up on the extra scary baby bumble bees. (Seriously... Macie's jumparoo is scarier than this ride)

Pace was a good trooper. He rode all of these rides with her, even though her would have preferred to be on rides that were outside of the little tikes area.

Carnival Part 1

Spring Break began with a trip to the HLSR Carnival. We met up with Aunt Kristen, Uncle Jeff, and Pace.

I decided to divide this post into about 3 different days for a variety of reasons (pictures are taking WAY TOO LONG to load on my slow computer, I have became the slacker blogger so accomplishing 3 posts over one topic is remarkable, and too may cute pictures to leave any behind).

Aren't these two of the cutest kids in the world....

Carnival Ride #1 involved the fun house. At the end of the fun house is a big slide. For some reason, Jeff opted for the stairs rather than the slide. I think he was scared.

Here comes Kaelin....

Here comes Pace....

4 month check-up

Todd got the pleasure of taking Macie to her 4-month check up. I had to work at the Houston Livestock Show, so Todd took over. I think he might have been a little nervous. He has never taken either of the girls to the doctor by himself. So here is what we found out...

Macie weighed a whopping 13 pounds 13 ounces. This put her in the 20 percentile in weight.

She was 25 inches long. This put her in the 80 percentile in height.

So, to sum it up, she is officially a green bean. She does not get that from me. I am more like a squash.

If you are wondering how this compares to Kaelin...

At Kaelin's 4 month check-up she weighed 14 pounds and was 24 3/4 inches long. Pretty close to identical to Macie.

Macie's acid-reflux is still there and we have increased her medicine. But the good news is, most babies begin to out grow it by 6 months. I am holding out hope.

Macie is eating cereal with a spoon and by the time she is six months, we can start adding some fruits and vegetables. Although I already give her a little bit of fruit and veggies. She loves it. She does great with food and her acid reflux actually gets a lot better when she has something heavier than milk.

All-in-all... it was a great visit. We have a very healthy and happy baby. I don't think I could ask for more.

Welcome Kinley

Kaelin, Macie, and I got to go visit Miss Kinley at the hospital. My sweet friend Stephanye had a little girl on March 9. I just know Macie and Kinley will be great friends just like Stephanye and I are. I am so glad we have babies so close in age.

TIR 2011

Last weekend, we ran in a 203 mile relay. This was the 4th year for this INSANE race. When I say INSANE, I say it with all caps because I truly mean it. We drive up on Friday, begin running on Saturday morning, and finish running late Sunday afternoon. NON-STOP. We have an awesome team of 12 (of which 11 members run faster than me). We were faced with some adverse conditions this year. Friday night, a storm blew in, and by Saturday, it was still just BLOWING.

We ran in a 40 + mile per hour head wind, followed by a pretty bitter cold night run. Not exactly ideal running conditions. But, by Sunday, we got some excellent weather.

If we look cold... we are

Not sure why she is all smiles because it is COLD, WINDY, and down right miserable.

Presents

I seriously have the absolute best daughter EVER. She amazes me at how thoughtful and considerate she is.

For my birthday, I got lots of awesome gifts. Even though I really did not need anything. I got an IPOD touch, some new running clothes, 35 roses from my Dad, some rockin' new blinged out sandals from Aunt Debbie and Uncle Truman, a gift certificate for a body wrap from Mamaw and Papa, and money for my Chelsea Handler ticket from my dad. Yes, I scored BIG. I really should ask for nothing more often.

Of all of the awesome gifts, I do have to say this was my favorite. This really goes to show that it is the thought that counts. Kaelin went upstairs while I was changing clothes. She found one of her favorite books, the princess wrapping paper, scissors, and tape. She decided to wrap me a present for my birthday. This was the first present she ever wrapped. She did an absolutely awesome job. This was the final product. I seriously thought I was going to cry. Her heart is HUGE.

As if the book was not enough, Kaelin went and found one of her favorite necklaces and insisted that I have it since it was my birthday. (So, I may look a little goofy sporting the multi-colored beaded necklace). But again, her thoughtfulness is just astonishing.

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful daughter (hopefully Macie will take lessons).

Happy Birthday to Me

Happy Birthday to Me... Happy Birthday to Me.... Happy Birthday Dear Jamie, Mommy... Happy Birthday to Me

So, today is my birthday... non-monumental occasion. It is official .... the older I get, the less I really care about this day.

But, I think today, I finally realized why it has become so insignificant to me...

Someone asked me how old I was going to be, so in a smart mouthed tone, I responded "Twenty-Two". Ha Ha Ha (Plus 13).

Then after a few minutes of haggling, I stopped to think about 22 and honestly there is just no way I want to be any other age than what I am now. Yes, 22 had some fun times, but 22 was also lacking my heart and soul. At 22, I was not married, nor did I have either of my angels. Even if I were to think about being 34, a big part of my life would not be there.

So... I can honestly say that being 35 is PERFECT. I could not ask for anything other than being 36... then 37... etc.

I even struggled with birthday requests this year. I think I have finally reached the 100 % content stage. I just can't think of anything I want other than everything I already have. AHHHH.... what an awesome feeling.

Happy 4 months Macie

On February 22, Miss Macie turned 4 months old. So, in honor of her big milestone, we had a cupcake party.

Thank you for an awesome 4 months.

We love you.

Maybe in the next couple of months you will be able to sample a few of the cupcakes (then I would not be forced to eat them all by myself)

Kaelin is still so head over heels over her sister.
